After struggling for 7 years, Lahore Qalandars lifted the PSL Trophy with pride and gratitude. They outclassed Multan Sultan in each field. Fans cannot keep calm and they are celebrating like there is no tomorrow.
Last night it was the end of Pakistan Super League 2022. A month-long cricket tournament came to end. Fans were looking for a high voltage match. And undoubtedly both teams do not disappoint. Final held between the Unbeatable Multan Sultan and a surprising Lahore Qalandars. Muhammad Rizwan leads the Multan whereas Shaheen Afridi is Lahore’s skipper. The match played in Qaddafi Stadium Lahore, moreover, houseful stadium was enough to tell the enthusiasm of Lahoris and cricket fans.
Lahore won the toss and opted for batting first. They stumbled in the start but Muhammad Hafeez’s calculated innings helps them to get stable on their feet. His half-century in limited balls (69 runs in 47 balls) helps to create havoc on Multan’s bowlers. After his dismissal, power hitters like Harry Brook and David Wiese help them to get a huge total of 180 in 20 overs. Looking at Multan’s overall consistency, it was a prediction that they might get that target easily.
Lahore Qalandars’ Remarkabale Performance
Now it was Multan Sultan’s batting turn. They started quite well. Muhammad Rizwan the calmest captain in history, was leading his team with patience and strategy. By an unfortunate ball, he gets dismissed by spinner Muhammad Hafeez. Lahore showed remarkable bowling and fielding skills on the ground yesterday. Fakhar Zaman failed to perform as a batsman, however, his hawk-eyed throws on stumps paid everything off. His perfect catches and runouts helps Lahore to dismiss many seasoned batsman.
Multan loses its important wickets turn by turn. Not a single batsman could help their team from collapsing. Looking at the huge total, Sultan gets panic which is very unlikely of them. But this panic cost them the most important match of the tournament. In the last over they lost their last wicket and Lahore won the final by 47 runs.

Shaheen Shah Afridi is just 21 years old when he gets to lead a team for the whole tournament. The team where players like A B Devilliers and Macculum gets failed to achieve something. Legendary player Shahid Afridi opposes him to accept this captaincy. According to him, Shaheen should wait for a few years at least. However after his addition, teams gets a new spirit and enthusiasm. It was whether his luck or what, team starts playing well with each match. And finally they lifted the ultimate trophy last night. He expresses his feeling via tweet and he does not forget to mention his big brother Muhmmad Rizwan as well.
On the other hand Rival Captain Muhammad Rizwan also congratulated qalandars in his iconic style. He hugged the winning captain after the last wicket. He shows the happiness and joy he felt for the young fast bowler. He also posted a heart-felt tweet as well.
Now PSL has ended and cricket fans are already missing it. It will come again next year once again and fans will see their favorite teams fighting to get that prestigious title again. PCB announced the team of the tournament and Muhammad Rizwan is the captain of that team along with all the shining stars of PSL 2022.
