Sidra Amin first Pakistani Batter to Score a century in Women’s World Cup

Sidra Amin has made history for Pakistan during Women’s world cup 2022. This can lead the Pakistan Women’s team to new heights of success

Pakistan’s right-handed batter Sidra Ameen, turned into the main Pakistani lady player to score a century in the Women’s World Cup 2022. She has done this ton against Bangladesh Women’s team. This happened in the ongoing women’s cricket tournament on the 14th of March 2022.

However, the middle order and the lower order couldn’t support her in the run chase. Pakistan has lost the match by 9 runs. The effort Sidra Ameen has done, gathered respect from all over the world.

Sidra came to bat as an opener. Sidra and her partner Nahida have taken a firm start. Nahida also played a magnificent knock which was 43 for 67 as per the required run rate. Unfortunately, Nahida was bowled by the bowler of the Bangladesh Women’s team, named, Rumana Ahmed.

History in Women’s World Cup

Sidra Ameen is the first Pakistani Women Batter who has created a century in the women’s world cup 2022. She was too firm to achieve the first win for her team. Unfortunately, Sidra got out while running down the crease by the Ritu Moni. However, the Pakistan team lost but still, Sidra got all the praise from the world for doing that remarkable effort.

Pakistan Women’s team was chasing 234 runs in 50 overs. However, it seems difficult for them as they were losing again and again. Whereas, Sidra Ameen has done her best. In the last 15 overs, only 94 runs were left. The match was at a very crucial stage and on the other hand, Pakistan was at a very strong part. Bisma Maroof, Captain of the team was also at the crease and the score was 144/2. In the blink of an eye, first Sidra got out and then lower order fell apart. In the end, Pakistan has lost by 9 runs.

All the world has praised this brilliant knock of Sidra Ameen. Whereas, some are criticizing too. Few people have their opinion that she should win the for Pakistan too. However, Pakistan lost the match but this will give a boost to the team in upcoming matches. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has all praised Sidra.

Marina Iqbal the first female commentator of Pakistan to join the ICC panel has also praised Sidra’s knock.

Sports Journalist Zainab Abbas has appraised Sidra through her tweet but she also said that she should win the match too. While she was pleased with Sidra’s century, she addressed the issue at hand, “unable to close games”.

However, it is the 18th consecutive loss for the Pakistan Cricket Team in Women’s world cup but the fans are also hoping that this will give a new boost to the team. They have booked the last win in the world cup in 2009. This effort of about to win the match will help Pakistan Women’s team in upcoming matches.
