This is similar to the Israeli army’s killing of 11-year-old Palestinian Muhammed Al-Durra in 2000.
Several brave journalists, including Abu Akleh, captured the events on camera. As well as the Israeli army, the Palestinian forces nearby claimed that Al-Durra killed by bullets fired by his father.

The body was carried by thousands of Palestinians, wrapped in a Palestinian flag and with her vest on her, into the Jenin refugee camp. She will be buried in her hometown of Jerusalem. Millions of Arabs across the Middle East and North Africa are shocked and outraged at Israel’s killing of Abu Akleh. Which has sent shockwaves and condemnations across the region.
