Sarwat Gillani will honor the red carpet of Cannes this year

The diva of the country Sarwat Gillani is all set to appear on the red carpet of the Festival de Cannes this year. Her movie “Joyland” selects to feature in the special category. This is a proud moment for the entertainment industry as well as we as a nation.

It will feature under the category of A Certain Regard, known for including experimental cinema and newcomer works. This is the second most important and special category in the festival. The film stars Ali Junejo, Alina Khan, Rasti Farooq, Sarwat Gillani, Sohail Sameer, Salman Peerzada, and Sania Saeed. Joe Saade (“Costa Brava Lebanon,” “Broken Keys”) is the Cinematographer. The Festival will start from May 17 to May 28, 2022.

Little about the movie

The movie revolves around a boy who used to live in a patriarchal household. He is the youngest one in the house so he is the most loved and pampered one as well. Secretly he joins the group of erotic dance theater. However, things take an ugly turn when he falls in love with a transwoman. The story revolves around the feelings and transition of sexual rebellion that happened for the first time in the conservative family.
