Our childhood favorite web browser Internet Explorer is about to shut down. The world’s oldest search engine is retiring on June 15, 2022. Social media is full of goodbye tweets and posts about their nostalgic browser.

Microsoft is about to retire the oldest web browser Internet Explorer tomorrow. Childhood favorites of 90s kids are finally saying goodbye on June 05, 2022. It came into the world in 1995, it was the start of something great. 27 years old web browser enjoys its monopoly for so many years. Later much faster and more advanced browsers like Chrome, and Firefox take their place. In 2003, this browser has seen the most traffic.

After new technology developed, this browser lacked speed and new plug-ins. Later this browser cannot fulfill the demands of gamers and tech experts. The world is now evolving into fast track speed and higher bandwidths. However, Now a new browser named “Microsoft Edge” is taking its place. This is compatible with all speedy and high-end browsers. CEO Microsoft stated as:

“We are announcing that the future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge. Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure, and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications. Microsoft Edge has Internet Explorer mode (“IE mode”) built-in, so you can access those legacy Internet Explorer-based websites and applications straight from Microsoft Edge”.

After the announcement fans are showing mixed feelings. Some are saying this is a great decision in technology. Some are reminded of their summer holiday adventures, and a few are making memes over it.

Microsoft 365 ended the support for Explorer on August 17, 2021, and Microsoft teams ended the support for IE on November 30, 2020. Oldest browser is all set for discontinuation on June 15, 2022.
