It’s been a long time since the England cricket team came to Pakistan for a friendly cricket series. However, the wait is over for Pakistani Cricket fans. As England’s Cricket team and support staff have arrived in Karachi after 17 long years. The England cricket team is here to play a 7-T20 match series with the Pakistan cricket team. Pakistan Cricket Board announced the fixture of the matches back in August. The first match of the series will be played between the 2 teams on 20 September in Karachi cricket stadium. The 2 sides are scheduled to play the first 4 games of the series in Karachi. Whereas, the remaining 3 matches will be played in Lahore Cricket Stadium.
This series is extremely important for both teams. This is because the International Cricket Council has already announced the schedule for its ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The Mega Tournament is set to occur between October and November. Both teams are well ranked in the ICC T20 cricket rankings. This series is being considered as the best chance for both teams to prepare for the crucial tournament ahead. This series is considered as the first leg of England’s tour. There will be more test cricket action when England’s team returns after the ICC tournament.

Zakir Khan, Director of Pakistan Cricket Board feels pretty strongly about the series between the 2 teams. He said in a press release that he feels delighted to have arranged this series. It is a crucial event for Pakistan cricket as this could be a major breakthrough for Pakistani cricket. If the country manages to conduct this series properly, PCB has promised the cricket fans for a complete season of cricket up ahead.
The bumper home season of Pakistan cricket will have England as starting hosts. After the series with England, New Zealand is all set to visit Pakistan twice in December 2022 and January 2023. Then, the West Indies Cricket team is scheduled to visit Pakistan for a bilateral series engagement in 2023. Moreover, Pakistan is also planning to host the ACC Asia Cup next year.
