CyberKnife System is a non-invasive medical treatment for curing both cancerous and non-cancerous tumors and other conditions where radiation therapy is indicated. It provides a true Robotic insertion of radiation throughout the body. Time duration of CyberKnife treatment method is usually 1-5 sessions. CyberKnife system has facilitated thousands of patients worldwide and clinically proved of more than 2 decades.
It is much different than surgical procedures that require incision and general anesthesia. The unique High-Dose radiation therapy denies the fact because it is a nonsurgical and noninvasive outpatient procedure.
Treatment Areas
It is used to treat cancerous cells present anywhere in the body including lung, spine, liver, pancreas, prostate, brain, head and neck, and kidney. It also provides alternative for surgical procedures, or surgically complex tumors or patients who have inoperable surgery.
Types of Treatment
CyberKnife System allows treatment through radiation therapy by two methods
True robotic delivery precision
The CyberKnife System features a linear accelerator (linac) that is directly mounted on the surface of robot delivering high-energy x-rays or photons inside the body through thousands of angles by moving and bending around the patient. The unique beam angles focus on the the target tissue minimizing the effect of High-Dose radiation on the surrounding healthy tissues.
Real-time motion synchronization
The CyberKnife System is designed in such a way that occupies all the angles and movements of patient as well as the tumor. During treatment, patient could be able to perform normal body movements with ease. Patient could cough, sneeze, breathes and node head. Its motion adaptive unique technology directly focuses on target cells minimizing damaging surrounding tissues.

Side Effects
Side effects may last for short time interval. Likely side effects include:
- Constipation, fecal incontinence, fecal urgency, hemorrhoid, rectal bleeding
- Urinary retention, incontinence, increased frequency, urinary urgency, urinary bleeding
- Blood in stool
- Erectile dysfunction
Side effects are not limited to above mentioned ones but it may vary according to the radiation therapy used.
Key CyberKnife treatment benefits
- Admirable long-term cancer control
- Significantly reduced incidence of sexual, urinary and bowel function side effects
- non-invasive and Non-surgical
- Time duration of treatments is as little as 4-5 sessions across 1-2 weeks
- Most patients can continue normal activity throughout treatment
