You would probably fret a little less if you knew that spitting chewed gum on a sidewalk in Thailand can cost you $600. Many such rules are being followed in different parts of the world. Many of these weird laws are unbelievably bizarre.

People do strange things, therefore weird laws are written to help straighten them out. Some of these bizarre laws almost seem like urban myths or too ridiculous to be real, yet odd as they are, they were created for a reason. Some of these laws date back several hundred years and were never changed or eliminated and make very little sense in today’s world, but nonetheless these weird laws found all around world do exist.

It’s Illegal to Reincarnate Without Permission in China

Tibetan Buddhist monks are not allowed to reincarnate after they die unless they have been granted permission from the government. They do not think of it as an act of God but a personal choice. Chinese mythology declared these monks as free humans with no sins or bad wishes. That’s why they can reincarnate in any shape they want. But according to the legislature, they cannot be reborn unless they have a permit from Government.

We’re not sure how they enforce this, but China is known for having some strict laws.

Wearing camouflage clothing is considered a serious crime in Africa

Unless you’re in the military, wearing camouflage clothing is pretty outdated. But there are those who like it. In that case, it is better to leave them in the wardrobe when travelling through some countries in Africa and the Caribbean. In these places, wearing camouflage prints is a serious crime, and can be considered uniform forgery.

In Alaska you will be in problem if you whisper on the ear to a person that is hunting, in Colorado and Denver you can’t borrow a vacuum cleaner from your neighbors, in Arizona you can end up in jail if you cut cactus, and in North Carolina, you cannot sing out loud. Washington forbidden laying your parents are rich, in Texas you can’t shoot buffalo from the second floor and gorillas can’t be transported in the backseat of your car. It is illegal to sell you kids in Florida.

Posthumous marriage in France is legal but must be approved by several civil servants and the family of the deceased. France is one of the few countries in which it is legal to marry a partner posthumously. Around fifty requests for posthumous marriage are made in France every year. Now that marriage is no longer a necessary step to establishing paternity, however, it is becoming rare that these requests be accepted.

Think you can just climb a tree in Canada? (Why not, there are a lot of them, right?) Expect to pay a hefty fine if you get caught doing so anywhere in the province of Ontario.

This goes for Ottawa, Toronto and even in the middle of the forest — unless you have a permit. In 2013, one young tree-climbing enthusiast earned himself a $365 ticket for climbing one in Bellevue Square Park.
