Ohio police unleashed a dog on a 23-year-old black man during a traffic stop. The incident has sparked disapproval and calls for police reform.
A 23-year-old black man raised his hand and surrendered to authorities, despite repeated requests from Ohio police not to release the dog.
Officers tried to stop a commercial semi-truck that had not stopped for inspection a lengthy chase ensued on July 4. Correspondingly the video of the incident was released by the Ohio Highway Patrol.
According to a compiled Ohio Highway Patrol incident report obtained. A motor carrier administers inspectors stop a semi-trailer truck travelling west on Route 35 in Jackson County as a vehicle. The left rear mudflap was missing.
According to the report, the inspector turned on the police car’s lights and the suspect vehicle proceeded west on Route 35 and made eye contact with the officer.
After Jadarius Rose did not stop, the inspector asked the Ohio police to send a patrol with signs.
Meanwhile, the video first shows authorities chasing an articulated truck that appears to be slowing down to a roll to stop. So, the semi-truck pulled up, and a police officer came out of the car. The Ohio police point a gun at the semi-truck and order the driver to come out of the truck. However, the driver returned to the road without getting out of the truck. Police officers continue to pursue him. Several police cars joined the pursuit. The driver finally stopped the semi-truck, and he got out surrounded by Ohio Police and their cars shown in the video.
Meanwhile, an officer unleashed a police dog on Rose even though a state trooper came out of his vehicle and walked toward the driver. Furthermore, heard another officer said, get on the ground, you’re going to get bit.
