Beyonce, a famous singer, paid $100,000 to keep the Washington Metro open after her show amid torrential rains. It allows fans to return home safely and conveniently. She helps support public transport and promotes responsible.

Beyonce performed at FedEx Field, but her tour was paid hours later on the Metro to serve fans due to the rain. Metro service usually ends at midnight on Sundays, but it has extended service half an hour later. Beyonce tour producer paid $100,000 to keep the system open until 1 a.m. Despite questions from fans, why the capital’s public transit system isn’t run later at night.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, the system switched to a much earlier closing time of 9 pm because of reduced demand. In 2021, it returned to the current schedule. About 2,000 people connect to the system from 11 pm. to 5 am and midnight on average.

Metro ridership data shows a distribution of entries and exits by hour on Sundays this year. The board chooses operating hours annually, with 1 a.m. They close on Fridays and Saturdays and at midnight every other day. Metro charges sports teams or artists $100,000 an hour to recoup operating costs, deducting fares during extra hours. They usually require these agreements for two weeks to adjust worker schedules and overnight track work. Metro limits late-night or extra-hour events to avoid harming maintenance efforts. The Marine Corps Marathon pays for extra service, while Comcast, Uber, and Monumental Sports have also contributed to some playoff games.
