Cannibal Explosion could Hit Earth Today, Triggering Solar Storm.

If a “cannibal CME could strike Earth, it could disrupt our planet’s magnetic field and trigger a geomagnetic storm. It can lead to power outages, satellite communications failures, and radio interference.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) warned that a ‘‘‘coronal mass eruption (CME) could blast Earth and could trigger a powerful solar storm. On August 5, an X1. 6-class solar flare erupting from the Sun released two powerful CMEs. These two CME clouds come together, with the second cloud surpassing the first, creating a force, aka the cannibal CME.

What is Cannibal Solar Explosions?

A ‘Cannibal’ solar explosion, also known as a coronal mass ejection (CME), occurs when the sun’s magnetic field lines twist and snap, releasing a burst of energy and plasma into space.

The CME is said to be “cannibal” in nature, which is a rarer event than a normal CME because it occurs when a coronal mass ejection rapidly consumes a block end route. Earth, forming a large plasma wave.
According to NOAA, an X1.6 solar flare triggered two powerful coronal eruptions on August 5, which is terrible. Cannibal CME rises as the Sun’s 11-year cycle peaks before the next cycle, which will begin in 2025.

What happens if it hits the Earth?

A CME hit with Earth could trigger a geomagnetic storm, disrupting the planet’s magnetosphere, radio transmissions, and power lines. It may damage artificial satellites and prolong power outages. However, not confirmed that it will hit the Earth. But researchers are monitoring the clouds for a better understanding.
