There are 4400 languages in the world. Many of these languages are ancient and some are modern. Some of the ancient languages are Egyptian, Mesopotamia, Chinese and Greek.
Some of the ancient languages grouped together and make a common language. They have same language families and proto language. For example, Punjabi and Hindi developed from Sanskrit, French and Spanish developed from Latin.
The language shows the culture development of the human being. While, when we speak, our language shows the relationship of our culture and tradition.
THE ANCIENT LANGUAGE OF EGYPTIAN
Egyptian Hieroglyphs were discovered on ivory tablets and ceremonial surfaces for cosmetics around 3200 BC. The foundation of Egypt writing by using reed brushes and pens for ink writing. It was known as Hieratic. Egyptian writing’s purpose was to serve ceremonial and practical. An alphabet concept originated around 1850 BC. The ancient Egyptian writing effect was an impact for human communication and cultural development.
Mesopotamia
The foundation of Mesopotamia was around 5500 years ago. In this language, simple pictorial signs evolved into intricated characters. The marks of cuneiform created around 29000 BC. Therefore, after 600 years, cuneiform became more standardized, with symbols read from left to right in horizontal lines and realigned and rotated 90 degrees anti-clockwise. Around 2340 BC, Sumer fell to Akkadian armies. So, it adopted cuneiform-inspired characters in 15 languages. Sumerians remained the language of learning until 200 BC. Meanwhile, the cuneiform outlived it by almost three centuries. It continues to use for other languages into the Christian era.
CHINESE
The Chinese writing discovered near Anyang, the Yellow River’s tributary, Beijing. These inscriptions found on oracle bones. It was shoulder blades of oxen and turtle plastrons. It was used by late Shang dynasty kings for divination rituals. The discovery shows Chinese historical and linguistic knowledge. However, it becomes the earliest written record of Chinese civilization. The bones contain over 4,500 symbols. Many of which are ancestors of the Chinese characters still used today. Deciphering the Shang script is challenging, and many characters remain undeciphered. Chinese characters represent both concepts and sounds of spoken language. Meanwhile, components shared between characters to indicate similarities in pronunciation or meaning.
GREEK
The ancient Greek language has a rich history, dating back several millennia. The foundation of the Greek writing system was Linear A. It emerged around 1900 BC during the Minoan civilization on Crete. Linear B found in the Mycenaean civilization. Meanwhile, it used for administrative and economic purposes. The Mycenaean civilization eventually declined around 1100 BC. The Greek language flourished with the works of renowned writers and philosophers like Homer, Herodotus, Sophocles, and Plato. The Greek language continued to evolve through various historical periods, other cultures and languages. However, the Greek alphabet emerged, revolutionizing written communication in Greece and influencing many regional variations.
