Islamabad Police arrested a human rights lawyer Imaan Mazari from her home in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
Tarnol Police Station Islamabad imprisoned Imaan Mazari for Interference in State Affairs, staging a sit-in and resistance.
Shireen Mazari Reported about Incident
Imaan Mazari’s mother, Shireen Mazari, a former Pakistan Tareek e Insaaf (PTI) leader, reported police force came in plain clothes (including men and women). They locked their guards in the guard room before entering their house.
Further, Shireen said that 20 people entered their house 6 were women constables. They search their room and take their mobile phones, laptop and turnoff the security cameras. She reported on Twitter.
The officers, including a women officer, took her daughter violently. They break their front door to enter the house. However, her daughter was in her nightdress. Her daughter even requested to let me change my dress, but they took her away.
In addition, she said, they don’t have any legal notice. This act was done without any warrant or legal procedure.
The police officer Islamabad reported, the accused were wanted by Islamabad police for investigation. He further said all the action were taken according to law. The officer said no illegal procedure was implemented.
Additionally, South Waziristan, Ali Wazir also arrested in interfering State Affairs by Islamabad Police.
However, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan accursed for Imaan Mazari arrest. They requested for immediate and unconditional release. The act of Islamabad police was unacceptable the organization said.
The way Islamabad Police entered her home, reportedly without a warrant. It is unacceptable and points to a more disturbing and widespread pattern of state backed. However, this is violence against rights enforcers, freedom of speech and assembly HRCP posted on X.
