In a grand affair, Pakistan’s renowned fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and the daughter of cricket legend Shahid Afridi, Ansha, are joining in matrimony today in Karachi. The auspicious event witnessed the arrival of Shaheen Afridi and his family at the wedding venue. Where a diverse array of cricketing personalities and distinguished guests gathered to partake in the celebration.
Among the esteemed guests was the captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Babar Azam. Along with cricket luminaries such as Mohammad Hafeez, Saeed Anwar, Tanveer Ahmed, and Sahibzada Farhan. All personalities were gracing the occasion with their presence.
The camaraderie and high spirits of Captain Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi were palpable, adding to the festive atmosphere.
It’s worth noting that Shaheen Afridi and Ansha Afridi exchanged their nikkah vows in a private ceremony held in Karachi earlier this February. Nikah was attended by close-knit family members and distinguished cricketers.
Looking ahead, reports indicate that the couple’s Walima reception is scheduled to take place in Islamabad on September 21st, promising another memorable chapter in the couple’s journey together.
Shaheen Afridi Dismisses ‘Rift Rumors’ with Babar Azam
As per a report from Pakistani media, Babar and Shaheen were involved in a verbal exchange following their team’s exit from the Asia Cup 2023. Post the defeat, Babar voiced his concerns about the performance of senior players during the Super 4 stage of the tournament. However, Shaheen interjected, suggesting that Babar should refrain from making broad generalizations and avoid criticizing those who had performed commendably. In response, Babar affirmed that he was well-informed about the individual performances within the team.
The report further stated that Pakistan’s captain, Babar, held a press conference after the defeat. Then maintained a reserved demeanor while returning to the hotel, choosing not to engage with others.
Nonetheless, Shaheen put an end to the speculations through a social media post. On Tuesday evening, he shared a photograph with Babar, captioned: “family” along with a red heart emoji.
Babar Azam also tweeted and congratulated Shaheen on the start of a new journey last night.
