The Israel-Hamas war has been going on for many days now. Different countries around the world are taking sides. Some are supporting Israel, while others are supporting Hamas.
Israel’s foreign ministry says that about 84 countries have spoken up in support of Israel. They’re saying that Hamas attacked them and that Israel has the right to defend itself. Some countries in the Middle East even praised Hamas for their surprise attack, even though it caused a lot of harm in Israel.
As people are being moved away from the areas near the border, the number of people who have died has gone up to more than 1,100. However, here’s a list of countries that are on Israel’s side, and those that support Hamas.
Countries Supporting Israel
United States: US President Joe Biden reaffirmed unwavering support for Israel, ordering the deployment of US naval assets closer to the region and providing additional military aid. The aircraft carrier USS Gerald R Ford and accompanying warships are en route to the eastern Mediterranean, with fighter aircraft squadrons bolstered in the area.
United Kingdom: UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak conveyed unequivocal support for Israel, assuring Prime Minister Netanyahu that Britain stands firmly alongside Israel in these trying times.
France: French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the attacks on Israel and affirmed France’s solidarity with the nation, holding discussions with Israeli leaders.
Australia: Australia called for restraint to protect civilian lives and expressed support for Israel’s right to self-defense. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese blamed Hamas for violence and condemned their indiscriminate targeting of civilians.
Norway: Norway strongly condemned the surprise attacks on Israeli civilians, urging an immediate halt to the violence.
Other Countries Supporting Israel: Austria, Germany, India, Canada, Poland, Spain, and the European Union have also expressed support for Israel, with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz emphasizing Israel’s right to defend itself against barbaric attacks.

Iran: Iran, historically supportive of the Palestinian cause, praised the attack, terming it a “proud operation” and a “great victory.” Moreover, the Iran-backed group Hezbollah engaged in attacks on Israel near the Lebanon border.
South Africa: The ruling African National Congress expressed support for the Palestinian response to what they termed as the brutality of the Israeli apartheid regime.
Yemen: The Huthi rebels in Yemen expressed support for the operation, asserting it revealed the weakness of Israel.

Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia called for a two-state solution and urged an immediate halt to the conflict. “The Kingdom renews the call of the international community to assume its responsibilities and activate a credible peace process that leads to the two-state solution to achieve security and peace in the region and protect civilians,” Saudi Arabia said in a statement.
Qatar: Hosting the Hamas Political office since 2012, Qatar placed responsibility for the escalation on Israel, citing repeated raids on al-Aqsa Mosque as a key factor.
