Ramadan 2024 is exactly 100 days away. This is a significant milestone in the Islamic calendar, and it is a time for Muslims to start preparing for the holy month. I pray that Allah SWT makes preparing for Ramadan easy and that you have a blessed and rewarding month.
In just 100 days, Muslims worldwide will welcome the sacred month of Ramadan 2024. This marks a special time in the Islamic calendar, where believers prepare their hearts and minds for a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection.
Let us be prepared and ready as Allah, the All-Knowing, All-Wise, instructs:
“O you who believe! Endure, outdo all others in endurance, be ready, and observe your duty to Allah, in order that ye may succeed.” [1]
The early generations of the Ummah used to make du’a 6 months after Ramaḍān when Allah accepted their deeds in Ramaḍān. For the next 6 months, they would make du’a to Allah to grant them the blessing of being alive in the coming Ramaḍān.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught us to prepare for that which was to come, his narrations being replete with such examples. In the same manner, he (ﷺ) also taught us to prepare for Ramaḍān, beginning months in advance. It has been narrated that upon sighting the moon of Rajab, he prayed to Allah with the following words:
“O Allah, bless the months of Rajab and Sha’bān for us, and let us reach the month of Ramaḍān.” [2]
Inspired by this teaching of our beloved Prophet (ﷺ), we find ourselves talking about Ramaḍān as the moon heralding the month of Rajab is above us.
