Tiger Woods, the famous golfer, has launched his clothing line called “Sun Day Red” after parting ways with Nike, his long-time sponsor. The name comes from his tradition of wearing red on the final day of tournaments. The logo features a tiger emblem with 15 stripes representing the number of Major championships Woods has won.
Golf legend Tiger Woods marked a new chapter in his career today. He unveiled his own clothing line, “Sun Day Red,” at an event near The Riviera Country Club. This comes just weeks after his split with Nike, his long-time sponsor, ending a 27-year partnership.
The name “Sun Day Red” pays homage to Woods’ tradition of wearing red shirts in the final rounds of tournaments. A habit inspired by his mother’s belief in the color’s power. The brand promises “a new and elevated standard to performance wear and luxury lifestyle fashion“. It offers apparel and accessories designed to “elevate all levels of play.”
Speaking at the launch, Woods said, “It’s the right time in my life. It’s transitional. I’m no longer a kid anymore.” He further elaborated on the brand’s philosophy. “I have learned so much over the years and have a lifetime of experience adjusting my apparel and footwear to help me play better based on the way it was constructed.”
Potential Launch
The collaboration with TaylorMade, which already sponsors Woods’ equipment, goes beyond simply slapping his name on products. The golfer actively participated in the design process, incorporating his expertise and preferences into the line. The logo itself features a leaping tiger stretched across the three words, subtly referencing his 15 major championships.
The full range of clothing and golf gear will be available starting May 1st. It includes polos, pants, shorts, hats, gloves, and even headcovers. While specific prices haven’t been announced, early reports suggest the line will cater to the premium segment of the market.
Woods will debut his new apparel line at the Genesis Invitational tournament. He’ll also make his first competitive appearance of the year. Despite recovering from ankle surgery last year, Woods is optimistic about his return to golf and aims to compete in one tournament per month this season.
