Haris Rauf unfortunately suffered a shoulder injury during the match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings. This injury has forced him to be ruled out of the remaining Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9. This is a significant blow to the Lahore Qalandars, who are already struggling in the tournament.
Lahore Qalandars’ fast bowler Haris Rauf won’t be playing any more matches in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) this year. He dislocated his shoulder while catching the ball during a match against Karachi Kings on Saturday. Doctors say he needs 4-6 weeks to recover from his shoulder injury.
Lahore Qalandars confirmed the news in a statement, expressing their disappointment at Rauf’s absence. “We are deeply saddened by Haris Rauf’s injury,” said captain Shaheen Shah Afridi. “It was painful to see him miss out on the rest of the tournament, and his absence will be felt significantly.”
“MRI scans and other tests have shown he has a disclosed shoulder which will take time to heal so he is out of the PSL,” the Lahore Qalandars spokesperson said.
Major Setback
Haris Rauf had already played four matches in this PSL season. It’s important to note that Rauf had recently faced disciplinary action from the Pakistan Cricket Board. The issue led to the termination of his central contract. However, this incident is solely related to his on-field performance and injury.
Rauf had struggled in the initial matches of the PSL but showed improvement against Karachi Kings. He took 1 wicket and conceded only 22 runs in his 4 overs. This is the second major bowling setback for Lahore Qalandars, as their premier spinner Rashid Khan was also ruled out before the tournament due to a back injury.
He’ll need around four to six weeks to get better. This is a big problem for Lahore Qalandars because they’ve lost all four of their games so far in the PSL.

The absence of these two key players has significantly weakened the Lahore Qalandars’ bowling attack. The team management will now have to find replacements for the remainder of the tournament and hope to turn their fortunes around.
Pakistan’s first international assignment after the PSL is a home T20 series against New Zealand in April. Rauf’s participation in this series will depend on his recovery progress.
