This year, the Oscar nominees are getting some pretty amazing swag in the “Everyone Wins” bags from Distinctive Assets, a marketing company. However, the bag’s contents are reportedly worth around $180,000 and include everything from luxury vacations to Rubik’s Cubes.
The Oscars are almost here, and there’s exciting news for the Oscar nominees! This year, nominees aren’t just receiving the famous golden statue award – they’re also receiving special gift bags filled with fun surprises. These gift bags are called “Everybody Wins” bags.
This year, some Oscar nominees are receiving gift bags worth nearly $180,000. Even though only four actors will win an Oscar, all 20 nominees in top categories will get these luxury bags. A marketing company called Distinctive Assets is behind this tradition for the 22nd year. The bags contain over 50 gifts, ranging from a $15 Rubik’s cube to a $50,000 invitation for a stay at a Swiss ski chalet.
The priciest gift in the bag is a three-night stay at a Swiss chalet valued at $50,000. But there’s more than just invitations to luxury retreats in the Everybody Wins bag.
Luxuries In The Bag
These are just a few of the dozens of items included in the Everybody Wins bag:
- A portable Schwank Grill capable of heating up to 1500 degrees. The grill, which features overhead burners that use infrared technology, retails for $1,350.
- A $335 bag “handmade by master artisans” from Canada-based Elboque.
- A red light sleep therapy device from Helight features “a scientifically engineered, 28-minute patented protocol that mirrors the natural cycle of light at the end of the day.” Each hockey puck-sized device retails for $139.
- Also included in this year’s official Grammy gift bag, Oscar nominees are offered a $25,000 live show from mentalist Carl Christman which “combines magic, mind reading, hypnosis and comedy.”
- A retro-themed 50th anniversary Rubik’s Cube featuring the puzzle’s original logo and color scheme. It sells for $15.
- A five-piece luxury gift set from Miage skincare valued at $515.
- A $10,000 micro-needling treatment from Cynosure “designed to tighten and revitalize” skin and “minimize the common signs of aging or reduce blemishes.”
These gift bags are exclusively for acting and directing nominees, including big names like Christopher Nolan and Emma Stone. Even the Oscars host, Jimmy Kimmel, will receive one. However, recipients need to be aware of taxes, as the gifts may count as taxable income.
The Academy Awards take place on Sunday.
