Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government recently announced Rs100 million ($359,901) in aid for the people of Gaza amidst a worsening humanitarian crisis there. This comes as the death toll in the region continues to rise.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, has declared an aid package of Rs100 million ($359,901) for Gaza. This announcement comes amidst a devastating situation in Gaza, where over 32,000 people have lost their lives since 7th October 2023 due to ongoing conflicts with Israel.
The aid aims to provide relief to the suffering population of Gaza, particularly focusing on essentials like food and medical supplies. The decision reflects Pakistan’s solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine.
Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif, the chief minister’s special assistant on information and public relations, stated that the aid would be handed over to the Palestinian ambassador to Pakistan promptly for distribution in Gaza.
“KP government stands with the oppressed people of Gaza during this difficult hour,” Dr. Saif said, urging Muslim countries and the international community to play their part in helping the people of Palestine.
Pakistan’s Support To Palestine
Pakistan has consistently advocated for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and has urged the international community to ensure unimpeded access to humanitarian aid for Palestinians. This comes as the death toll in the region continues to rise due to ongoing military offensives.
Pakistan does not have diplomatic relations with Israel and has consistently demanded an independent Palestinian state based on “internationally agreed parameters” and the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Pakistan has a long history of supporting the Palestinian cause. The country continues to advocate for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. Moreover, the KP government’s recent aid announcement reflects Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian people in their struggle for self-determination.
The international community must come together to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. An immediate ceasefire is crucial to prevent further loss of life and allow for the delivery of essential aid. We also need long-term solutions to address the conflict’s root causes and ensure lasting peace in the region.
