Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi Clinch Career-Best Milestones

Pakistan’s cricket team enjoyed a double celebration after their dominant win over Ireland in the last two t20s. Apart from the match victory, Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi enjoyed their career-best milestones. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi acknowledged these remarkable achievements in a post-match ceremony.

Pakistan’s cricket team secured a thrilling victory against Ireland in the second and thirdT20I, but the celebrations were doubled thanks to two individual career-best milestones achieved by star players Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Babar Azam, the ever-reliable captain, etched his name in history by becoming the most successful captain in T20I cricket. His win against Ireland marked his 45th victory at the helm, surpassing all other captains in the shortest format of the game. This achievement is a testament to Azam’s exceptional leadership and strategic skills.

He is followed by Uganda’s Brian Masaba in second position with 44 wins in 56 matches. Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Asghar Afghan and England’s Eoin Morgan are the third and fourth most successful T20I captains with 42 wins each. Afghan, however, led his side in 52 matches, while Morgan was England’s captain for 72 games.

Meanwhile, young gun Shaheen Shah Afridi continued to impress with his fiery pace bowling. He reached a phenomenal bowling milestone by claiming his 300th international wicket. Afridi achieved this feat in a remarkable 145 matches across all three formats – Test, ODI, and T20I. This rapid climb to 300 wickets highlights Afridi’s exceptional talent and his potential to become a true legend of the game.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi acknowledged these achievements by personally congratulating both Azam and Afridi and presenting them with commemorative team jerseys.
