USA Defeated Pakistan in Thrilling Super Over of ICC T20 WC

In a thrilling match at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, USA clinched a historic victory over Pakistan in ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Match ended in a heart-stopping Super Over, where USA managed to pull off a surprising win.

Mohammad Amir bowled Super Over for Pakistan, USA scored 18 runs, losing just one wicket. Pakistan’s response was insufficient, as they scored only 13 runs, losing one wicket. USA won the Super Over by 5 runs.

Earlier in regular match, Pakistan set a target of 160 runs for USA. USA started their chase and lost their first wicket at 36 runs when Mohammad Rizwan caught Steven Taylor off Naseem Shah’s bowling. USA lost second wicket at 104 runs when Andres Goss was bowled out for 35 runs.

USA’s third wicket fell at 111, with Monanik Patel caught by Mohammad Rizwan off Mohammad Amir’s bowling. Aaron Jones made a significant contribution with 36 runs, and Nitish Kumar scored 14 runs, helping USA level the match with Pakistan and leading to Super Over.

Pakistan’s scored 160 runs for loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Openers Mohammad Rizwan and Usman Khawaja fell out early with score at just 20 runs. Mohammad Rizwan was caught by Steven Taylor off Saurabh Netravalkar for 9 runs, and Usman Khawaja was caught by Nitish Kumar.

Babar Azam Scored 44 Runs

Fakhar Zaman was the third wicket, caught by Steven Taylor off Ali Khan after scoring 11 runs. Shadab Khan played a vital innings, scoring 40 runs off 25 balls before Saurabh Netravalkar caught him off Nitish Kumar’s ball. Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam scored 44 runs before Jasdeep Singh dismissed him lbw at 125 runs.

Shaheen Shah Afridi contributed 23 runs, while Haris Rauf remained not out with 3 runs. Nosthush Kenjige took 3 wickets, Saurabh Netravalkar claimed 2 wickets, and Ali Khan and Jasdeep Singh picked up one wicket each for USA.

This victory marks a significant achievement for USA cricket, as Pakistan has a strong record in T20 cricket, having reached semi-finals of T20 World Cup six times.
