Sania Mirza’s Father Denies Marriage Rumors with Cricketer Mohammed Shami

Imran Mirza, the father of Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, has denied rumors about his daughter’s alleged second marriage to cricketer Mohammed Shami. On Thursday, several local media reports suggested that Sania Mirza, who recently separated from Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, planned to marry the Indian cricket team’s fast bowler, Mohammed Shami, in August.

Imran Mirza addressed these rumors, dismissing them as baseless. “This is all rubbish. She has not even met him,” he told an Indian media outlet on Friday. He emphasized that there is no truth to these claims and that Sania is currently focusing on her spiritual journey in Saudi Arabia, where she is performing the Hajj pilgrimage.

Sania Mirza took Khula from Shoaib Malik in January

Sania Mirza married Shoaib Malik in 2010 and subsequently sought separation through Khula, a right for a Muslim woman to initiate a divorce, in January this year. Additionally, they share a five-year-old son named Izhaan. Moreover, Sania’s personal life has often been in the spotlight, and the recent rumors further added to the public’s curiosity about her next steps.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami has also been in the news for his personal life. He married Hasin Jahan in 2014, and they have a child together. However, they have been separated for some time now, and the media has given significant attention to their relationship.
