Yousuf Dewan Companies Launches First Electric Car in Pakistan

Yousuf Dewan Companies made history in Pakistan by launching the Honri VE, the country’s first domestically assembled electric car. It’s a hatchback with a futuristic design and impressive features, including a range of 200 kilometers on a single charge. Moreover, the launch marks a significant step towards Pakistan’s more sustainable transportation future.

Yousuf Dewan Companies have made a significant move in Pakistan’s automotive industry by launching the country’s first locally assembled electric hatchback, the Honri VE2.0, and reintroducing the popular Shehzore truck. Moreover, it can be a new chapter in the automotive industry in the country.

Honri VE Launch

The Honri VE2.0 was showcased at the “Future Assembled” event, signaling a major step towards eco-friendly transportation in Pakistan. This electric hatchback is priced at Rs3,999,000 and offers a 200 km range on a single charge. Moreover, it is expected to save drivers up to Rs50,000 monthly on fuel costs.

Saleha Hassan, Director of Sales and Marketing, highlighted the car’s advanced features like ABS, EBD, TPMS, and a dustproof and water-resistant lithium battery. Meanwhile, the Punjab government also announced plans to install charging stations across the country.

Partnering with Chinese automobile expert Honri, the VE2.0 is designed for Pakistani roads. Moreover, Eco-Green Motors Limited, a Yousuf Dewan subsidiary, has nine dealerships and is set to expand in the electric vehicle market.

Return of the Shehzore

In addition, the Shehzore truck, known for its reliability, is back with three new variants:

  • STANDARD CABIN: Rs3,859,000
  • KING CABIN: Rs4,179,000
  • GRAND CABIN: Rs7,499,000

Dewan Muhammad Yousuf Farooqui praised the truck’s powerful engine, spacious cargo deck, and durability. The GRAND CABIN variant, featuring an additional row of seats and a cargo deck, is a first in the light commercial vehicle industry.

Since 1998, Dewan has been a key player in introducing brands like Kia, Hyundai, BMW, and Mitsubishi to Pakistan. Moreover, the company’s Sujawal plant is one of the largest in the country, and with over ten dealerships, they are reinforcing their market presence with the locally assembled KIA K2700 Shehzore.

The dual launch of the Honri VE and the Shehzore marks a new chapter for Pakistan’s automotive sector. Additionally, it also paves the way for a future dominated by electric and commercial vehicles.
