The Pakistan Champions secured their spot in the finals of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2024! They defeated the West Indies Champions by a convincing margin of 20 runs in the first semi-final on Friday. They’ll be facing the winner of the match between Australia Champions and India Champions which is happening right now in Newhampton.
Pakistan Champions made history on Friday by becoming the first team to qualify for the World Championship of Legends (WCL) final. They defeated the West Indies Champions by 20 runs.
Pakistan will face the winner of the match between Australia Champions and India Champions, which is underway in the same ground, Newhampton.
In the match against West Indies, Pakistan batted first but lost early wickets. Sharjeel Khan and Shoaib Malik were out for a duck. Captain Younis Khan scored 65 runs, and Kamran Akmal added 46 runs to keep the score moving. However, they lost more wickets, and the team was struggling at 134/7 in the 16th over.
Then, Aamer Yamin (40 runs off 18 balls) and Sohail Tanvir (33 runs off 17 balls) played aggressively, bringing Pakistan’s total to 198 runs in 20 overs.
West Indies started well with Chris Gayle scoring 22 runs and Dwayne Smith adding 26 runs. However, they lost quick wickets and couldn’t keep up the chase. Ashley Nurse (36 runs) and Rayad Emrit (29 runs) tried to keep the team in the game, but West Indies were all out for 178 runs in 19.5 overs.
Sohail Tanvir was the star bowler for Pakistan, taking four wickets for 22 runs.
Second Semifinals
The second semifinals of the WCL is played between India Champions and Australia Champions this time. India batted before and made a magnificent 254 losing 6 wickets. Irfan Pathan, Yousaf Pathan, and Yuvraj Singh made the fifties using the least ball helping the team to create a mountain of runs for the opponent team.
Australia lost early wickets in their innings and made 78 runs in 10 overs losing 4 wickets. In this situation, Pakistan will potentially face India in the finals. Let’s hope for the electrifying finals and hope for the victory of the best team playing.
