Jin makes history by carrying the torch for South Korea in the Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Relay. It was a big moment for him and his fans (ARMY) who came out in droves to cheer him on. The relay took place on July 14th, which is also Bastille Day in France!

BTS Jin made history again by carrying the Olympic torch in Paris for the 2024 Olympics. Jin was chosen as one of the 11,000 torchbearers for the event. His part of the relay took place on July 14, which is also Bastille Day, a big holiday in France.

Fans gathered in large numbers to see Jin as he led the relay near the Louvre Museum. The event started at around 8 PM. Jin received the torch on Rue de Rivoli and carried it 200 meters to the museum. He then returned the torch to the relay center at the Louvre.

“I feel extremely honored to have been able to participate in today’s torch relay. I sincerely thank ARMY and all the fans who made it possible for me to carry the torch,” Jin said.

Supporters displayed handwritten Korean signs that read, “Welcome, Seok-jin, I Love You,” “Go, Seok-jin,” and “Best wishes, Seok-jin,” accompanied by Korean national flags. Jin, sporting a timid smile, reciprocated the affection of his fans by waving to them, acknowledging their unwavering love and support.

The torch relay began in Marseille on May 8 and will travel through many cities and landmarks in France. It will end back in Paris on July 26 for the Olympics’ opening ceremony. The Olympic flame was first lit in Olympia, Greece, on April 16, 2024. It will pass through 400 cities in France and some overseas regions.

Jin joins a prestigious list of past torchbearers, including Muhammad Ali and David Beckham. Jin, the 31-year-old, carried the torch shortly after finishing his mandatory military service on June 12, becoming the first BTS member to complete it.

He is also set to release a solo album this year and will appear in a new variety show called The Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island, which will be broadcast soon.

Jin’s bandmates welcomed him back from the military with a celebration at their HYBE headquarters. Moreover, they shared a photo of their reunion on social media, with balloons that read “Jin is back” and a caption saying, “I’m home.”
