Asim Khan Wins Jones Creek Open Squash Championship

Pakistan’s Asim Khan has clinched the prestigious Jones Creek Open Squash Championship. The victory marks another significant milestone for the rising star and a proud moment for the nation. Moreover, he is entitled to bring back the squash glory to the country.

Asim Khan, a top squash player from Pakistan, won the Jones Creek Open Squash Championship in the USA on Sunday. He beat his fellow Pakistani, Ahsab Irfan, with a score of 3-1.

The final match took place in Johns Creek, Georgia, and had a prize money of $12,000. Asim, ranked World No. 73, made an impressive comeback after losing the first game. The final scores were 11-7, 7-11, 4-11, and 4-11 in Asim’s favor.

This win marks Asim Khan’s third Professional Squash Association (PSA) title of the year and the 10th of his career. Earlier in 2024, Asim won the Wild Card Challenger in Washington and the Squash Inspire Challenger in March.

Pakistan’s squash scene continues to shine, with Nasir Iqbal also winning the Tasmanian Open Squash Championship in Australia recently. Iqbal defeated Switzerland’s David Barnett with scores of 11-8, 12-10, 6-11, and 11-5.

This was Iqbal’s third title on Australian soil as this year, he previously claimed titles at the Bendigo International and Shepparton Open and reached the semi-final of the Victoria Open.
