the Pakistan women cricket team achieved a historic victory in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 10 wickets at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. This win marks the first time any team has won a match by ten wickets in the tournament’s history. Opening batter Gul Feroza become won the Player of the Match award for her exceptional performance.
Chasing a target of 104 runs, Pakistan’s opening batters, Gull Feroza and Muneeba Ali, showcased exceptional skill. Feroza scored 62 runs off 55 balls, including eight fours, while Ali added 37 runs off 30 balls with four boundaries. The duo reached the target in just 14.1 overs without losing a single wicket, completing the chase with 35 balls to spare.
This victory is Pakistan’s second in the tournament, bringing them closer to a semi-final spot with four points from two wins. Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan lost their first match to India but bounced back strongly with this win against UAE.
In the match, Pakistan won the toss and opted to field first. The UAE team struggled to build momentum, losing wickets regularly. Esha Oza and Theertha Satish were the top scorers for UAE, with 16 and 40 runs respectively. Pakistan’s bowlers were in fine form, with Sadia Iqbal, Nashra Sandhu, and Tuba Hassan each taking two wickets, while captain Nida Dar took one.
Nepal is playing India in Group A’s last match today, and the Green Shirts require the Blues to beat their opponents to ensure a secure entry into the semi-finals.
