RDA Seals 18 Educational Institutions For Violating Rules

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken strict action against 18 educational institutions in the city. Moreover, the RDA sealed these institutions for violating building regulations by engaging in unauthorized construction and failing to pay commercial status fees.

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) recently sealed 18 educational institutions that are privately owned for not following the rules. The RDA Enforcement Squad, with the help of local police, targeted unauthorized buildings. Meanwhile, the operation focused on areas like the Asghar Mall Housing Scheme, Eidgah Scheme, and Dosehra Ground Scheme.

The enforcement action targeted establishments operating without proper approvals and No Objection Certificates (NOCs). In addition, authorities found that these institutions had violated approved building plans and zoning regulations, potentially endangering students and staff.

Among the schools sealed were:

  • Thematic Montessori School
  • Minar Public School
  • The Arqam School
  • Al-Huda School
  • Allied School
  • Step College
  • Jinnah Iqbal Educator
  • Diction School
  • Educator School
  • Jinnah Foundation School
  • The Future Education
  • The Future Oasis School
  • The Bestever School

According to a spokesperson for the RDA, the operation in Rawalpindi was conducted by the Enforcement Squad, which included two Assistant Directors, Building Control, the Building Superintendent, and Building Inspectors. They were assisted by police from the Banni police station. Moreover, the team targeted illegal residential and commercial buildings, leading to the sealing of these educational institutions.

The RDA spokesperson said that the owners had been warned before the action. The sealed properties belonged to Muhammad Shoaib, Mazhar Anees, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Rafique Shah, Mian Naheem, Ch Asim, Muhammad Irfan, Zumard Javeed Qureshi, Shabir Ahmed Abbasi, Amjid, Shezad Sadique, Amir Malik, Anjum Butt, Khan Asad, Muhammad Abdul Aziz, and Shahid Bilal. Additionally, these owners built commercial buildings without proper approval, violating the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2020.

The sealing of these institutions has disrupted the education of numerous students in the area. However, this move by the RDA highlights the authority’s commitment to ensuring compliance with building regulations and preventing illegal commercial activities.
