Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem Qualifies for Paris Olympics 2024 Final Round

Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem has made his country proud by qualifying for the final round of the javelin throw competition at the Paris Olympics 2024. The qualifying round was held as part of the Group-B competitions, where athletes from around the world competed for a spot in the finals.

Arshad Nadeem’s first throw reached an impressive distance of 86.59 meters, securing his place in the final round. India’s Neeraj Chopra also performed exceptionally well, throwing 89.34 meters in the first round to qualify for the final.

Arshad Nadeem’s family and loved ones celebrated his achievement joyously at his house in Mian Channu, chanting slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ (Long live Pakistan). Many consider Arshad the last hope for Pakistan to win a medal in the Paris Olympics 2024, as he aims to improve on his fifth-place finish at the Tokyo Olympics.

The Sindh Governor congratulated Arshad Nadeem for his remarkable performance and wished him success in the final round, scheduled for August 8. He also praised Arshad for his brilliant game and expressed confidence in his ability to bring home a medal.

Arshad Nadeem has shown consistent progress since he began competing in 2015. His journey includes:

  • 2016: Received a scholarship from World Athletics to train at the IAAF High Performance Training Centre in Mauritius.
  • 2018: Finished 8th in the javelin throw event at the Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.
  • 2019: Won gold at the South Asian Games in Kathmandu, Nepal, setting a new national record with a throw of 86.29 meters.
  • 2021: Qualified for the Tokyo Olympics, finishing 5th in the final with a throw of 84.62 meters, setting a new personal and national best.
  • 2022: Competed in the World Athletics Championships and finished 5th, breaking his national record with a throw of 86.16 meters. Also, won gold at the Commonwealth Games with a throw of 90.18 meters, setting new records.
  • 2023: Won gold at the Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, with a throw of 85.16 meters.

Moreover, Arshad Nadeem’s dedication and hard work continue to inspire many, and all eyes will be on him as he competes in the final round of the javelin throw at the Paris Olympics 2024.
