August 9,2024: The Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education have released the results for the Class 9th exams. This year, a large number of students appeared for the exams across various boards, with many facing a challenging year.
Lahore Board Results:
The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced that 287,000 students took the Class 9th exams. Of these, 127,000 students passed, while 159,000 were unsuccessful, leading to a pass rate of 44%. This represents a 6% decrease from last year’s results. Zahid Mian, the controller of examinations, has emphasized the need for students to improve their focus and efforts in their studies.
Multan Board Results:
In Multan, 139,786 candidates appeared for the exams. The results showed that 69,169 students passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 49.48%. This lower-than-expected performance has raised concerns about the quality of education in the region.
Faisalabad Board Results:
The Faisalabad Education Board also saw a concerning outcome, with a pass rate of just 48.05%. Out of 194,249 students who took the exams, only 93,340 passed, meaning more than half of the students did not clear the exams. This result has caused significant worry among parents and educators, sparking discussions on how to improve academic performance.
