“I Am a Product of PM’s Vision,” Arshad Nadeem Says on His Return

Arshad Nadeem, the javelin thrower who won Pakistan’s first-ever gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, returned home to a grand celebration. His plane, upon landing at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, was greeted with a spectacular water cannon salute, which symbolized the nation’s pride in his achievement.

As Arshad’s flight subsequently entered Pakistani airspace, air traffic control welcomed him with a special message, celebrating his success. At the airport, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Chairman of the Prime Minister Youth Program Rana Mashhood, former Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Raffique, and Shiza Fatima met him warmly. Furthermore, they honored him with garlands of flowers, thereby showing their respect and admiration.

Speaking to the media at the airport, Arshad reflected on his journey and emphasized that his victory resulted from the relentless hard work of both himself and his coach. “This success represents a long journey of perseverance,” he said. He expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Sports Board and his coach for their support. Arshad also highlighted the role of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program in his development, calling himself a “product” of the initiative launched by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

He dedicated his gold medal to the prayers of the Pakistani people and his parents. “With the blessings of Allah and the prayers of the nation, Pakistan’s name now shines brightly on the global stage,” he said. Additionally, Arshad also recalled his previous performances, including his impressive showing in the Diamond League. He credited his coach for the rigorous training that led to his Olympic success. “I am deeply thankful to my parents, my coach, and the entire Pakistani nation,” he added.

Arshad’s return marks a moment of national pride and a testament to his hard work and dedication.
