Today, President Asif Ali Zardari will honor Arshad Nadeem with the prestigious Hilal-e-Imtiaz at a special ceremony in Islamabad. Arshad, who hails from Mian Channu village, earned this recognition after winning the gold medal in javelin throw at the Paris Olympics 2024. He made history by setting a new Olympic record with a remarkable throw of 92.97 meters, breaking 118 previous records.
Upon his return to Pakistan, Arshad received a hero’s welcome at Allama Iqbal International Airport. A large crowd of supporters gathered to celebrate his victory, cheering and applauding his outstanding achievement on the international stage.
In recognition of his success, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with the provincial governments of Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan, announced prize money for Arshad included Hilal-e-Imtiaz. Several private companies also stepped forward to reward him, offering vehicles as a token of appreciation.
