WhatsApp is preparing to roll out an exciting new feature that will enhance interactions with its Meta AI chatbot. Soon, users will be able to have two-way conversations with Meta AI using voice messages. This means instead of just sending voice notes, you can now have verbal exchanges with AI.
This upcoming feature will be available for both Android and iOS users. It will enable Meta AI to reply with voice responses, making the conversation feel more natural and engaging. Users will likely have a choice of several voice options, possibly up to 10 different voices, although specific details about accents or tonal variations are not yet clear. Additionally, the feature may offer captions and text transcriptions of conversation to make it even more accessible.
Releasing Date Not Confirmed Yet
As of now, there is no confirmed release date for this feature, and it is not yet available to those in Google Play Beta program. Most recent beta versions of WhatsApp for Android (2.24.17.16) and iOS (24.16.10.70) hint at this new voice mode. Screenshots from these versions show a new voice icon next to text field in Meta AI chats. Tapping on this icon brings up a new voice mode interface, complete with a waveform icon that indicates AI is listening.

This feature promises to make chatting with Meta AI more interactive and personal, potentially transforming how users engage with AI on WhatsApp. Stay tuned for more updates as WhatsApp continues to develop and refine this feature.
In addition to enhancing user interaction, this new voice feature could significantly impact how people use chatbots in their daily lives. By allowing Meta AI to respond verbally, WhatsApp is making it easier for users to communicate hands-free, which could be especially useful for those on the go or when multitasking.
