Muslims in Pakistan and neighbouring countries are celebrating the 12th Rabi ul Awal with full spirit today. Local administrations of all provinces have decided to curate events to express their love towards Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) on His birthday.
On Tuesday, Pakistan celebrated the 12th Rabi ul Awal, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) with great enthusiasm. The country’s streets, buildings, and mosques are beautifully adorned with colourful lights. Moreover, Muslims gathered for prayers, processions, and special Milad events.
In Karachi, authorities closed major roads for processions, and the city illuminated in honour of the Prophet’s (SAW) teachings. Similarly, Rawalpindi and Islamabad saw vibrant decorations, and local communities distributed food to celebrate.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif joined the celebrations, urging the nation to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The President emphasized the importance of love, justice, and kindness. In addition, he also reminds people that the Prophet’s (SAW) life is a perfect guide for humanity. He also called for unity and support for oppressed people around the world, including those in Palestine and Kashmir.
“Today, as the world faces division and oppression, it’s imperative to spread the message of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who embodied love, tolerance, and human rights. He treated all individuals, regardless of their faith, with respect and dignity. Embracing this spirit, we must promote global brotherhood, justice, and love,” President Zardari remarked.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed these sentiments in a beautiful speech. He stressed that the challenges facing the Muslim world and Pakistan can be solved by following the Prophet’s (SAW) principles of tolerance, compassion, and justice.
Meanwhile, security was tightened across the country to ensure smooth celebrations. Thousands of police officers were deployed in cities like Rawalpindi and Islamabad, where the main processions took place. In addition to processions, food distribution was widespread. Communities shared meals with their neighbours and the less fortunate, highlighting the spirit of generosity that marks this day.
The day ended with a renewed sense of devotion and reflection on the timeless message of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
