NFK’s Long Lost”Chain Of Light” Is Here!

The posthumous album of legendary Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, titled “Chain of Light,” has finally hit the shelves. The album, recorded over three decades ago found in the archival. Moreover, fans worldwide have eagerly anticipated the album, which marks a significant milestone in Khan’s musical legacy.

The legendary voice of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan returns to captivate the world once more with the release of his posthumous album Chain of Light. Real World Records, a label founded by Peter Gabriel, unveils the album today, September 20, 2024. This release comes more than 30 years after its original recording in April 1990 at Real World Studios.

Chain of Light features four soul-stirring tracks and spans a total of 41 minutes. It soulfully delivers the profound qawwali experience that Nusrat was famous for. With songs like “Ya Allah Ya Rehman” and “Aaj Sik Mitran Di,” listeners are instantly transported into the spiritual and high-energy realm that Nusrat created in his live performances.

The track “Ya Gaus Ya Meeran” adds intensity and passion to the album. Meanwhile “Khabram Raseed Imshab” carries a joyful rhythm, showcasing the depth of Nusrat’s vocal range. Alongside Nusrat’s harmonium and powerful vocals, the album features his brother Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan on harmonium, Dildar Hussain on tabla, and chorus vocals from Mujahid Ali, Rehmat Ali, Rahat Ali, and others.

The recordings were rediscovered in 2021 during Real World Records’ archival relocation, after being forgotten in storage for decades. Peter Gabriel, who collaborated closely with Nusrat, described the rediscovery as a “real delight,” praising the album as a testament to Nusrat’s peak performance.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan passed away in 1997 at the age of 48, but his influence on world music. He was pro particularly qawwali, remains unparalleled. Chain of Light offers both longtime fans and new listeners an opportunity to experience the unmatched spiritual depth and passion of Nusrat’s music.
