PM Shehbaz Warns Israeli Attacks on Lebanon Could Widen Conflict

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon, warning that these actions could dangerously escalate the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Speaking to foreign media in New York, he expressed concern that these attacks might spark greater unrest and instability across the region, threatening broader peace.

Sharif urged the international community to immediately denounce Israel’s actions. He emphasized that without global intervention, the conflict could worsen and have far-reaching consequences, not just in the Middle East but worldwide. He called for an immediate ceasefire to prevent further escalation.

Sharif reaffirmed his support for a two-state solution as the only viable resolution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. He stressed that the establishment of two independent states is key to securing lasting peace in the region. Without it, he believes ongoing violence will persist, making stability difficult to achieve.

As Israeli airstrikes continue, Sharif’s call for global action comes amid growing concerns about the conflict spilling over into neighboring countries, potentially creating a larger regional crisis. His message highlights the urgency for peace and the importance of resolving the situation before it worsens further.

Sharif also highlighted the broader implications of the conflict, warning that an unchecked escalation could lead to severe humanitarian crises and disrupt global peace efforts. He called on influential nations and international organizations to step up and play their role in resolving the situation.
