On Wednesday night, popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, better known as BeerBiceps, experienced a major cyber attack on his YouTube channels. Hackers gained control of his channels, renaming them with references to Tesla and Trump. The attackers deleted all his videos, replacing them with old streams of Elon Musk and Donald Trump. This follows a similar recent hack of the Indian Supreme Court’s YouTube channel.
The BeerBiceps channel was renamed “@Elon.trump.tesla_live2024,” while his personal channel became “@Tesla.event.trump_2024.” After taking over, the hackers deleted all his podcasts and interviews, swapping them with content from past events featuring Musk and Trump. YouTube has since taken down the hacked channels, showing a message that reads, “This page isn’t available.”
Ranveer, who was initially in Singapore but is now in Mumbai, has not made an official statement but reacted indirectly on Instagram. Sharing a picture of vegan burgers, he joked, “Celebrating my two main channels being hacked with my favorite food. Death of BeerBiceps met with Death of diet.” In another story, he posted a selfie with an eye mask, asking, “Is this the end of my YouTube career? Was nice knowing you all.”
