Govinda, a popular Indian actor was reportedly hospitalized this morning after he suffered a bullet injury on his leg. According to Mumbai Police, the actor is currently out of danger and his manager stated that he is doing fine.
Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda, 60, was rushed to Criticare Hospital in Juhu after suffering a leg injury early Tuesday morning. The injury occurred due to a misfire from his licensed revolver at his Juhu residence. According to Mumbai Police, the incident took place at around 4:45 a.m. Meanwhile, the actor was preparing to leave for a flight to Kolkata.
Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, explained that the revolver accidentally fell from a cupboard and discharged a bullet that struck the actor below the knee. Govinda, who was alone at home at the time, immediately called his wife, Sunita Ahuja, and his manager for assistance. Sunita, who was in Kolkata, flew back to Mumbai upon hearing the news. Meanwhile, their daughter Tina stayed by his side during the treatment.
The actor was promptly admitted to the hospital, where doctors successfully removed the bullet. Medical staff have confirmed that Govinda is now stable and out of danger. In an audio message released to his fans, Govinda expressed his gratitude for the love and prayers he received. He credited the blessings of his fans, parents, and guru for keeping him safe during this ordeal.
“I was hit by a bullet, but it has been extracted. I thank the doctors, and your prayers have kept me safe,” Govinda said.

The police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and confirmed that there is no indication of foul play, describing the event as an unfortunate accident. The actor has not lodged any formal complaint, and authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the misfire.
Govinda, known for his iconic roles is currently resting at home. He remains a beloved figure in Bollywood, with a career spanning over three decades, known for his comedic timing, dance moves, and hit films such as Coolie No. 1, Partner, and Hadh Kar Di Aapne. His manager added that Govinda will take a few days off to rest and will reschedule his upcoming commitments accordingly.
