President Asif Ali Zardari honored Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim with the prestigious Nishan-e-Pakistan Award. This award is given in honor of his steadfast support for Islamic causes and his deep friendship with Pakistan. A state dinner was also held in honor of the visiting leader and his delegation.
In a prestigious ceremony at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Thursday, President Asif Ali Zardari conferred Pakistan’s highest civilian award, the Nishan-e-Pakistan, on Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. This honor was given in recognition of his unwavering support for Islamic causes and his steadfast friendship with Pakistan.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, federal ministers, military chiefs, diplomats, and other senior officials. The prestigious ceremony highlighted Anwar Ibrahim’s distinguished career. Known for his advocacy of Islamic values and humanitarian causes, he has consistently championed social justice and addressed pressing issues within the Muslim world.
Anwar Ibrahim, an admirer of renowned philosopher-poet Allama Iqbal, has drawn inspiration from Iqbal’s thoughts and writings. His dedication to uplifting the Muslim community has made him a respected figure globally. The Malaysian prime minister has also been a strong supporter of self-determination movements and has actively spoken out against oppression worldwide.
In addition to his work against Islamophobia, Anwar Ibrahim continues to promote interfaith harmony. He also advocated for understanding and respect among diverse cultures and religions. His efforts have significantly contributed to building bridges between communities, both within and outside the Islamic world.
Following the award ceremony, President Zardari hosted a state dinner in honor of PM Anwar Ibrahim and his delegation. Moreover, he further emphasizing the strong bond of friendship between Pakistan and Malaysia. Also present were Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Balochistan Chief Minister Sardar Sarfraz Bugti, and the Governor of Punjab.
