British Woman Finally Gets Response to 48-Year-Old Application

A British woman recently received a surprising response to a job application she sent nearly half a century ago. Tizi Hodson, now 70, had applied for a motorcycle stunt rider position in 1976. The letter, lost in the postal system, was recently discovered and returned to her.

British woman, Tizi Hodson, now 70 years old, recently received an unexpected surprise in the mail—a reply to a job application she sent nearly five decades ago. Back in 1976, Hodson applied for her dream job as a motorcycle stunt rider, but she never heard back. For years, she wondered why.

The mystery was solved when the letter was discovered behind a drawer in a post office and returned to her, 48 years later. A note attached to the letter humorously explained, “Late delivery by Staines Post Office. Found behind a drawer. Only about 50 years late.”

Despite not getting the job at the time, Hodson didn’t let that stop her. She went on to live a thrilling life, working as a snake handler, horse whisperer, aerobatic pilot, and flying instructor. She traveled around the world and embraced adventure at every turn.

“How they found me when I’ve moved house 50-odd times, and even moved countries four or five times, is a mystery,” she said. “It means so much to me to get it back all this time later.”

Reflecting on her life, Hodson said, “If I could speak to my younger self, I’d tell her to go and do everything I’ve done. I’ve had such a wonderful time, even if I have broken a few bones.”

Hodson, however, has had an eventful life. She has worked as a snake handler, a horse whisperer, an aerobatic pilot, and even a flying instructor since sending out her letter. She even moved to Africa.

The return of the letter after so many years means a lot to Hodson, who described the experience as “amazing.” Even after moving houses over 50 times and changing countries multiple times, the letter somehow found its way back to her.
