YouTuber Ducky Bhai (Saad Ur Rehman) and his wife, Aroob Jatoi, were arrested in Lahore, Pakistan, in October 2024. The couple was detained for displaying weapons on social media, which is illegal in the country. They were released after apologizing and removing the offensive content from their pages.
Popular Pakistani YouTuber Saad Ur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, and his wife Aroob Jatoi were briefly detained by the Lahore police after they posted a video displaying firearms on social media. The Model Town Organized Crime Unit arrested the couple following Aroob’s Instagram post featuring the weapon.
The couple, who are prominent figures on social media, were released after issuing written apologies to the authorities. They also removed the controversial content from their social media platforms. Although no charges were filed, Ducky Bhai and Aroob have yet to make a public statement about the incident.
The famous social media couple has also been accused of promoting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) slogans against the government. According to reports, the couple blamed each other during the investigation. Aroob posted a picture on her Instagram and accused Ducky of being responsible.
In Pakistan, displaying weapons on social media is illegal, a regulation that the Punjab Police has been strictly enforcing in recent months. In August, Punjab Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar called for legal action against individuals flaunting firearms in social media content. Ducky Bhai and his wife were caught in this crackdown, which also targets TikTok videos promoting similar content.
Series Of Contorversies
This is not the first time the YouTuber has been embroiled in controversy. In 2020, Ducky Bhai found himself in a heated debate on Twitter after a woman posted a picture of a dog wearing a Pakistani flag, which sparked a nationwide conversation. Despite these controversies, Ducky Bhai remains a beloved figure with over eight million subscribers on his main YouTube channel. He was honored with the Pakistan International Screen Award (PISA) YouTuber of the Year Award in 2021.
Ducky has over eight million subscribers on YouTube, while his daily viewership is in the millions. Earlier, police arrested TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, famously known as Nadeem Nani Wala, in Lahore for using a fake number plate, ‘IK 804’.
Despite the incident, Ducky Bhai’s fanbase remains loyal, eagerly awaiting further updates from the couple.
