Saudi Arabia’s famous fast-food chain, Al Baik, is planning to make its way to Pakistan! A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Al Baik Food System Company and Pakistan’s Gas and Oil Pakistan Ltd (GO) to explore expansion opportunities in the country.

Al-Baik, headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is renowned for its broasted and fried chicken, served with a distinctive variety of sauces. Moreover, it is the largest restaurant chain in Saudi Arabia and holds a trademark in over 80 countries.

This exciting news came as part of a larger set of agreements during a high-level meeting between officials from Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. In this meeting, they signed 27 MoUs across various sectors, including energy, agriculture, mining, and even cyber security.

Saudi Minister of Investment, Engineer Khalid Al-Falih, signed the MoU on Thursday during his visit. He joined Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in overseeing the signing of agreements worth over $2 billion between Saudi and Pakistani businesses.

Al Baik’s CEO, Rami Abu Ghazaleh, shared that they are currently studying the local market to see how best to introduce the popular fast-food chain to Pakistan. Moreover, Al Baik, famous for its delicious fried chicken and seafood, has become a favorite across the Middle East, and people in Pakistan are eagerly anticipating its arrival.

Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030

This deal is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. The vision aims to diversify its economy and enhance its global influence. Moreover, Saudi Aramco has already invested in Pakistan by acquiring a 40% stake in GO, a key player in the country’s oil and gas sector.

In addition to Al Baik’s potential entry into Pakistan, the two nations have signed agreements worth millions of dollars, with investments in agriculture, technology, and infrastructure. This includes projects like semiconductor chip manufacturing, textile production, and even the export of spices and vegetables from Pakistan.

These developments position Pakistan to see increased cooperation and investments from Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the much-awaited Al Baik fast food chain!
