Lahore-based YouTuber and TikToker Rajab Butt is famous for his extravagant lifestyle and over-the-top family vlogs. He recently found himself in trouble this Sunday. Police, teaming up with the Punjab Wildlife Department, raided his luxurious residence in the Chuhng area and arrested him for illegally keeping a lion cub and showing off firearms. However, he is currently being held in police custody.
The raid came after reports that Butt had received the cub as a “wild” wedding gift (literally) during his recent opulent nuptials to Emaan. The celebrations, which were more viral than most influencers’ content, included a grand Dholki, Mehndi, and Barat. All the events saw massive cash showers that sparked widespread social media criticism.
During the search, authorities also discovered an unlicensed .223-bore rifle stashed in a silver box. A case has now been registered under the Punjab Arms Ordinance 1965 and Punjab Wildlife Protection laws. Keeping exotic animals without a permit? Big no. Brandishing guns for clout? Bigger no.
Butt, with a social media empire boasting 4.56 million YouTube subscribers and 1.1 million Instagram followers, is no stranger to controversy. Known for his flashy videos that mix stunts, family moments, and luxurious escapades, his recent wedding had already drawn flak online for its ostentatious displays of wealth.
In a twist that could only happen in the world of influencers, Butt was released from custody shortly after being detained. For now, the lion cub, a key witness in this drama, remains in the custody of the Wildlife Department.
