Russia launched its largest drone attack of war against Ukraine, deploying more than 200 drones in an overnight assault. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy condemned the attack, calling it “aerial terror” and urging unity among Ukraine’s allies.
“Every day, our people stand against aerial terror,” Zelenskiy wrote on X. He revealed that Russia launched 267 attack drones, marking largest assault since Iranian drones began targeting Ukrainian cities and villages.
Ukraine’s air force reported that it shot down 138 drones, while another 119 disappeared from radars after being jammed by electronic warfare. Russian forces also fired three ballistic missiles, causing damage in five Ukrainian regions.
Russia Launches Almost 1,150 Attack Drones
Moscow has relied on nightly drone attacks for months, attempting to weaken Ukraine’s air defenses. Zelenskiy stated that over the past week, Russia launched nearly 1,150 attack drones, more than 1,400 guided aerial bombs, and 35 missiles of various types.

Despite relentless attacks, Ukraine’s air defense systems intercepted a significant number of threats. Zelenskiy thanked those operating these defense systems and urged Ukraine’s foreign allies to remain united in securing a “just and lasting peace.”
“This is achievable through the unity of all partners—we need the strength of all of Europe, the strength of America, the strength of everyone who seeks lasting peace,” he stated.
Attack comes at a time of heightened uncertainty for Ukraine. Tensions have risen following former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent verbal attacks on Zelenskiy. Additionally, a meeting between U.S. and Russian delegations in Riyadh, which excluded Ukraine, has further unsettled Kyiv and its European allies.
As Ukraine prepares to mark third anniversary of the full-scale war, it continues to call for stronger international support. Latest attack highlights the urgent need for enhanced air defense systems and a united global effort to counter Russian aggression.
