
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Uzbekistan on Tuesday for a two-day visit after concluding his trip to Azerbaijan. His visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan in key sectors, including trade, investment, defense, and energy.
PM Shehbaz is scheduled to meet Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to discuss mutual interests and opportunities for collaboration. Both leaders will explore ways to enhance economic and strategic ties, reinforcing their commitment to regional connectivity and shared development goals. During the visit, the two countries will sign several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to formalize agreements in various sectors.
As part of his engagements, PM Shehbaz will address the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum, where he will highlight investment opportunities and economic cooperation between the two nations. He will also visit Tashkent’s Technopark to observe advancements in technology and innovation.
Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Nigmatovich Aripov, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Ahmed Farooq, welcomed PM Shehbaz with warm hospitality upon his arrival. Accompanying him were Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Privatization Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and senior diplomat Tariq Fatemi.
PM Shehbaz Paid Tribute to Independence of Uzbekistan
During his visit, PM Shehbaz paid tribute at the Monument to the Independence of Uzbekistan, accompanied by Uzbek PM Aripov. He commended Uzbekistan’s progress in overcoming challenges and driving national prosperity.

PM Shehbaz reaffirmed the shared vision of Pakistan and Uzbekistan for peace, economic growth, and regional integration. He expressed his firm commitment to working together for a brighter future. “My visit is about resolving to work together for the sake of our shared values and a prosperous tomorrow,” he stated.
