Malaika Arora reprimanded a 16-year-old contestant on “Hip Hop India Season 2” for inappropriate dance moves. The judge expressed her disapproval of his suggestive gestures, demanding his mother’s phone number. The incident sparked online discussion regarding appropriate conduct on reality television.
Bollywood actress and reality show judge Malaika Arora took a strong stand against inappropriate behavior on ‘Hip Hop India’ Season 2. During an audition, a 16-year-old contestant, Naveen Shah from Uttar Pradesh, made suggestive gestures towards her, leading to a stern response from the judge.
The incident, which aired on March 14, quickly gained attention on social media. During his performance, the young contestant winked and blew kisses at Malaika, 51, making her visibly uncomfortable. She immediately confronted him and asked for his mother’s contact number, emphasizing that his behavior was unacceptable.
“Please give me your mother’s phone number,”. You are a 16-year-old kid. While dancing, he is looking at me and winking, (blowing) flying kisses. Malaika said, addressing the situation firmly.
A video of the moment went viral, sparking widespread debate. Many social media users praised Malaika for calling out the inappropriate behavior on a public platform. Some contestants also agreed with her reaction, questioning the contestant’s actions.
The show’s co-judge, choreographer Remo D’Souza, attempted to lighten the mood by jokingly asking whether the boy was more like his mother or father. However, the matter was taken seriously, and the contestant’s father was called on stage. Addressing his son’s behavior, he admitted, “He looks innocent, but he isn’t. He keeps chatting with girls throughout the night.”
Malaika’s response received widespread support from netizens. One user commented, “She’s right… This is needed for this 16-year-old child.” Another pointed out, “Malaika is older than his mother, maybe.”
However, some users highlighted a potential double standard, arguing that similar behavior by teenage girls often goes unnoticed. One comment read, “Teenage girls do the same things on social media, and nobody talks about it.”
Malaika Arora, known for judging dance reality shows like ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ and ‘India’s Best Dancer,’ remains a prominent figure in the industry. The show’s producers have yet to comment on the incident.
