
On Pakistan Day, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was posthumously awarded the Nishan-e-Pakistan. The prestigious national honor recognized his significant contributions to the nation. His daughter, Sanam Bhutto, received the award on his behalf during a ceremony.
Pakistan’s highest civilian award, the Nishan-e-Pakistan, was posthumously awarded to former Prime Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) founder, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. President Asif Ali Zardari presented the award in a ceremony at Aiwan-i-Sadr. Moreover, Bhutto’s daughter, Sanam Bhutto, accepted it on his behalf.
The event was attended by prominent leaders, including Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, and First Lady Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari. The recognition highlights Bhutto’s lasting impact on Pakistan’s political landscape and his contributions to the nation.
Honoring Excellence in Various Fields
Several other distinguished individuals were also recognized for their outstanding contributions. Among them was Air Marshal (Retd.) Raja Shahid Hamid, who received the Nishan-e-Imtiaz posthumously for his dedicated service. Moreover, Sultan Ali Akbar Allana was honored with the Nishan-e-Khidmat for his influential role in the financial sector.

The Hilal-e-Imtiaz was awarded to individuals excelling in literature, education, civil service, and philanthropy. Javed Jabbar was acknowledged for his literary achievements, while Allah Rakhi Shaheed was honored for her dedication to education. Dr. Syed Tauqeer Hussain Shah received recognition for his work in civil service. Moreover, Syed Ali Haider Gilani was praised for his public service.
Notable recipients also included Hussain Dawood for philanthropy. Sadia Rashid for her contributions to education, and experts in medicine, social services, and technology. Amir Hafeez Ibrahim was awarded for his advancements in science and IT. Meanwhile, Jimmy Engineer was recognized for his humanitarian efforts.
A Celebration of National Contributions
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari has been pleased to grant the Military awards to the officers and soldiers ofthe Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force.
These awards include two Sitara-i-Basalat, 227 Tamgha-i-Basalat, 82 Imtiazi Asnad, 185 Chief of Army Staff Commendation Cards, 23 Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military), 112 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), and 133 Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military).
The ceremony highlighted Pakistan’s deep appreciation for those who have made a lasting difference in various sectors. From politics and military service to education and technology, the awards recognized excellence in fields that continue to shape the country’s future.
