Pakistan’s automotive sector has reached a new milestone as Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan (HACPL) successfully exports its first batch of completely built cars to Japan. This marks a significant achievement for the country’s manufacturing industry and opens doors for further international trade.

This bond was initially formalized in May 1953 with the first bilateral trade agreement. However, it was in the 1980s that trade relations fully solidified, further strengthening Japan’s influence in Pakistan’s automobile sector.

A special ceremony was held at HACPL’s state-of-the-art facility to commemorate the occasion. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Industries & Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, attended as the chief guest. He praised Honda Pakistan’s production standards, strong regulatory compliance, and commitment to quality. He emphasized that this initiative aligns with government policies aimed at boosting economic growth through exports.

Start Of A New Era

The first shipment consisted of 40 Honda CITY 1.2L units, making Pakistan an exporter in the global automotive sector. This development highlights the country’s potential to supply high-quality vehicles to international markets, demonstrating the expertise and capabilities of local manufacturers.

Aamir H. Shirazi, Chairman of HACPL, appreciated the government’s efforts in creating a business-friendly environment, which has encouraged industrial growth. Meanwhile, HACPL President & CEO Takafumi Koike reaffirmed Honda’s dedication to technological advancements and innovation, reinforcing its role in producing world-class automobiles.

The event also featured a tree plantation activity, symbolizing Honda’s commitment to environmental sustainability. The initiative reflects the company’s focus on balancing industrial progress with ecological responsibility.

The ceremony was attended by government officials, industry stakeholders, media representatives, and Honda Pakistan executives. This milestone represents a step forward for the local automotive sector, strengthening its position in the global market.

With this successful shipment, Honda Pakistan sets a precedent for future exports, paving the way for broader participation in international trade. This achievement signals a promising era for Pakistan’s automotive industry, contributing to economic growth and employment opportunities in the country.
