Pakistan beat South Korea in Asian games Volleyball Match

The coach of Pakistan’s volleyball team, Issanaye Ramires Ferraz from Brazil, couldn’t hold back tears of happiness after his team’s impressive 3-0 victory against South Korea. This win secured Pakistan’s spot in the quarter-finals of the ongoing Asian Games 2023.

After his team’s remarkable 3-0 victory against South Korea, Issanaye Ramires Ferraz, the coach of Pakistan’s volleyball team hailing from Brazil, was overcome with tears of joy. This triumph guaranteed Pakistan a spot in the quarter-finals of the ongoing Asian Games 2023.

On September 22, Pakistan faced South Korea in the Round of 12 stage and showed exceptional performance throughout the match. This victory set them up for a quarter-final match against Qatar. A video of Coach Ferraz’s emotional moment quickly went viral. In an interview after the remarkable win, he praised his players for their extraordinary effort on the court.

He said, ‘The victory is immeasurable. You can’t imagine the hard work these guys put in to step onto the court. It’s very tough, but we believed it was possible.’

He continued, ‘The commitment and dedication of the athletes, along with their physical prowess, played a huge role.’

Ferraz also mentioned a similar achievement with a different team (Bahrain) in the Asian Cup, which helped them strategize for success.

The match’s scores were 25-19, 25-22, and 25-21 in favor of Pakistan. Players Usman Faryad and Murad Khan showcased exceptional skills, with Faryad scoring 20 points and Khan contributing 18 points.

This victory not only secured Pakistan’s spot in the top six teams but also marked the first time since the 1994 Asian Games that a Pakistani team has achieved this feat.

Earlier, Pakistan demonstrated its strength by winning against Chinese Taipei and Mongolia in Group B. They defeated Chinese Taipei with a clean sweep of 25-18, 25-20, 25-19, and Mongolia with scores of 25-17, 25-19, and 25-20.

Pakistan’s volleyball history in the Asian Games highlights their third-place finish in the 1962 Jakarta Asian Games. In the previous Asian Games in Indonesia in 2018, they finished in the eighth position.

In a thrilling quarter-final match, Qatar managed to secure a 3-1 victory against Pakistan on Sunday.
